I am a writer, researcher, editor, and educator with years of experience in higher education and publishing. I have taught English literature courses including introduction to literary studies, world literatures, and writing instruction. My work has been published in Psychoanalysis and History, TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly, Canadian Literature, Jacket2, the minnesota review, and C Magazine, among other places. I am Poetry Editor at Shrapnel Magazine. My debut poetry collection, Emanations, is out now with Wolsak & Wynn.

"[Prathna’s] sharp critical attitude kept me on edge, forced me to look deeper than most professors traditionally give merit to (particularly regarding race/gender/sexuality). That is, in my experience most instructors tend to either provide, or leave unquestioned, the very attitudes that underwrite certain social intuitions."
"What I thought were adequate close reading skills coming into the course were tested and polished; I enjoyed watching the simple method (what, how, why) yield complex and deep arguments from a text."
